Mimotek PP Output - This is where Mimotek places articles that it believes
require post processing. Putting files into Post Processing depends on the
number of pages in the article and the automated reshaping performed by Mimotek.
These articles are then loaded into one of two JPEG conversion directories called
JPEG QUEUE 1 and JPEG QUEUE 2.
JPEG QUEUE 1 & JPEG QUEUE 2- These are the load balanced directories
where article source PDF pages are converted to JPEGs. They are moved to Done
once successfully converted.
Done - This is where the converted page PDFs are placed. These are then moved
to Load Area.
Out - This is where the JPG versions of split and converted PDF pages are
placed. These are then moved to another directory which is not displayed here as
it is not a queue directory.
Problem - This is where PDF pages which fail JPEG conversion are placed.
The problem pages are retried up to 5 times.
Load Area - This is where articles are stored as they wait to be picked up
by the database loader which makes them available to the operators via a Post Processing
Interface.
Unchecked by Operator - These are the files which have been loaded into the
database and ready for post processing by the operators. Once an operator begins
post processing an article, the article is removed from this list.
Recompression - This is where the individual post processed jpg articles
are recompressed as TIFFs. Following successful conversion they are moved to PDF
Merging.
PDF Merging - This is where the recompressed TIFFs are converted and merged
into one PDF per article. Following successful merging, they are moved to Next Batch
Transfer to London.
Next Batch Transfer to London - This is where the post processed article
PDFs await delivery to London in the next batch. They are moved to Current
Batch Transfer to London once the current batch has been successfully delivered
to London.
Current Batch Transfer to London - This is the batch of post processed articles
which are currently being transferred to London. Articles are only removed
from this list once the entire current batch is successfully delivered to London.
